We love these tops and are rarely seen out of one these days....we had to prise the one in the photo off one of our Instructors - it was the only thing he was wearing on an especially chilly morning!!

One of the great things about wool is it doesn't smell, so even wearing the same top for several days will not cause you social embarrassment.

Extremely light and airy, soft and so, of course very packable - should you need a spare. Quick drying too- a simple wash in the evening, hang out to dry over-night and it will be ready to go the next day - take two and rotate daily for the ultimate in base layering.

Red-Deer stock these in ‘Loden’ Green a soft ‘olive’ colour ideal for all use as a top layer if you’re working hard or as a base.

Sized by UK Chest in inches - wear this top reasonably close to yoru body; typically for instance, we'd reccomend a 44" chest to wear a size L in Micro-weight and a size XL in Mid-Weight over the top.

Yet another fantastic base layer or T-short for all seasons - warm, wicking and comfortable in winter / cool, wicking and with U/V protection in summer. Exactly the same as the Microweight Crew but with short sleeves....a T-shirt version.

Low stock warning!

Throw away those horrid smelly mid-weight fleeces....you don't need those anymore.

Wicking and comfort, a top with a little extra warmth for prolonged or active use in colder-weather; with the added protection if needed of a zip-up around the neck-area.

We especially recommend this top to be used as a layering system in conjunction with a Micro-Weight base layer where the full benefits of wool can be exploited.

We love these fantastic tops! During the cold-snaps in January 2010 we were wearing these tops over a Micro-Weight base under G-1000 wind-proofs and remained warm and comfortable in-field all day.

Another very light and packable top from those brilliant Smartwool people again, making it ideal as part of a full layering system. Used in conjunction with a wind and/or water proof outer shell, this should be all the layering an active person will require in the UK; for extra warmth and versatility, combine with our Cowdray or Gruinard woollen shirt.
Red-Deer stock these great tops in ‘Olive Heather’ Green which, is probably the best description of a colour we’ve ever heard...or seen. Ideal on hill or in wood.

Can be worn as a layering system or as a stand-alone garment; Smartwool make their garments to fit correctly to the size stated - we reccomend that if you're planning to wear it as part of a layering system, you buy a size which is an inch or two larger than normal, if its to be usd as a stand-alone item, buy your normal size at the garment will fit as it is desgined to.

We did ask one of our instructors to model these tremendous all-wool bottoms but, some of the images are so shocking we could not reproduce them here.

Worn next to skin and under a shell of G-100 or Ventile these bottoms are snug and comfortable. Because they are just soft pure wool, they breathe and wick away any moisture so you can wear them all day long, for several days on the trot with none of the unpleasant side effects you'd associate with fleece.....yuk!

Well cut and well designed; fly, long of leg....as too short is SO uncomfortable; tight around ankles so that they don't interfere with socks of boot-tops.

Under a set of Gore-Tex waders they work perfectly to keep even January salmon anglers warm; alternatively they'll find year-round uses as a sleeping-garment for outdoors folk.
