1-Day Gralloch Course

1-Day Gralloch Course

Price: £150.00 (Including VAT at 17.5%)

Our next Gralloch course is scheduled for early SEPETEMEBER of this year ; the course will be run in Somerset as before again will offer a superb opportunity for all attendees to perform a full Gralloch on one deer each.

A full and detailed demonstration of a suspended Gralloch will be given, followed by individual attendees working on their own under one-to-one guidance. Full Wild-Game Meat (Hygiene and Inspection) Regulations and standards will be shown and explained in detail.

It is essential that stalkers who pass venison into the human food chain are fully aware and conversant with wild Game Meat regulations and can identify potential problems, abnormalities and disease - or be able to qualify a carcass as being perfectly healthy.

This is a unique and interesting opportunity for individuals to work on a real deer and to learn safe, hygienic field-evisceration technique in a controlled environment under supervision. Anyone with an interest in deer, deer-stalking or those wishing to get the most from hunting effort would be interested in this course.

A barbeque lunch will be prepared; hot drinks will be available all day.

Places on this course will be strictly limited and will be issued on a first-come/first-served basis - we urge anyone interested in this popular course to book early; please contact us (enquiries@red-deer.co.uk) for further details or to book a place.

Deer Stalker’s Rifle Accuracy Course - One Day

2010 Course dates are as follows:

- Wednesday, 12th May 2010

- Tuesday, 6th July 2010

Our very popular one-day Stalker's Rifle-Accuracy course has been carefully designed to meet the needs of deer-stalkers wishing to improve their field-rifle skills; once again this year we're offering this great course at the world renowned British Sporting Rifle Club, at NRA Ranges, Bisley in Surrey.

Our Stalker's Accuracy Course has been extensively and enthusiastically written about in 'Sporting Rifle', 'The Sporting Gazette', 'The Shooting Times' and 'The Sporting Shooter'; the course covers all aspects of the many-varied rifle-management and shot placement skills needed by lowland stalkers.

By building on sound, basic good rifle-shooting principles, we then focus on developing accuracy and -importantly - confidence from all the various positions likely to be encountered by stalkers: high seat, sitting, kneeling and standing; we look at the use of various shooting aides such as single, double and triple stick and discuss the merits of each in depth.

This is not a 'target shooting' course, we use deer-stalking and live quarry terms throughout the day; students are encouraged to consider the physiology of death and the results of good bullet placement down range. We use electronic targets for instant shot assessment, friendly experienced staff-instructors help build-up skills and confidence as does small group and low student / instructor ratio levels; the course is friendly and enjoyable.

Helpful and informative presentations of Shultz & Larsen sporting rifles, Apel mounts, Leica filed-Optics and Pro-Shot-Rifle cleaning products add interest to the day which includes our now famous lunch-time barbeques - a field-lunch prepared by Neil Andrews, skilled Bushcraft chef with over 25-years of experience!
