Dachstein style woollen Mittens are surely nearly as old as the hills themselves but, they’re still the favourite of many a seasoned hill-walker or mountaineer - and for good reason. Dachstein Mittens are handcrafted from 100 percent boiled wool and are then pre-shrunk to an expedition-weight thick woollen felt making them amongst the most weather-proof in the world.
Like all Woollen garments, they stay warm even when wet although, in the main they remain in use exceptionally water repellent.
Often seen is light-grey, our Dachstein Mittens are made from wool in a beautiful natural green shade which is subtle and low-tone; making them ideal for all outdoor activities including still-stalking (high-seat or ground butt), bushcraft, winter hillwalking, general mountaineering and wild-life observation; as used by Scottish winter climbers, alpinists, and even himalayan expeditioneers for over 50 years.
Not waterproof, but when used in snow, an icy skin forms over the mitt which is very effective at keeping hands exceptionally warm; highly windproof and very durable.

This classic multi-function torch from Gerber requires very little introduction; more of a 'tool' than a light and a top favourite among military and outdoors users for years. The 'Dial' (Diode Illumination Adjustable Lens) technology provides selection of 4 colour LED white, green, red and blue; the twist dial at the front of the unit allows you to select the colour of light appropriate to your task - White provides good general purpose light; Red preserves night vision; Green for map reading and Blue for use in blood/fluid tracking.
The torch is made from anodised aircraft aluminium, it is compact, robust and it weighs just 2.6oz (74g). The unit is powered by just one AA battery, and is supplied with a clip for belt/pocket storage, finish is black.
The light is switched on via thread at the back of the unit; this thread when completely undone allows access to the battery compartment (reverse your batteries when not is use for added batter life). The thread is protected by a rubber 'O' ring to prevent ingress of water.
