It is not always convenient or indeed legal to light an open fire for cooking; we have recently also become increasingly concerned about the impact open fires have on the environment of our wilderness areas.
For these reasons we advocate the use of self-contained stoves and cooking systems as an alternative to open fires where possible and when sensible. On our courses we will in future feature the use of many of these excellent pieces of equipment.
