Trailwise Canvas Gaiters

Trailwise Canvas Gaiters

£24.85

Proudly Made in Great Britain!

These classic gaiters are (almost) bullet proof....certainly, if you're looking for a gaiter that is tough enough to stand up to continued use through even the oldest, narliest, toughest heather, this is it!

The classic rear-zippered style offers maximum protection for the front of your leg/boot - yes, 'modern' front zippered styles are easier to get on and off but, it is the front of your gaiters that takes the brunt of the abuse; the rear closure is a vastly more sensible design. The 'snow-lock' at the top of the gaiter is provided by a draw-cord within a soft, proofed nylon material which, works as an effective closure this, as the name suggests, 'locks out' and slows the ingress of snow or wet.

The main length of the gaiter is made from incredibly durable, breathable heavy 100% cotton duck - very much like tent canvass in texture. This is proofed when new but softens over time so that eventually is almost completely silent in use (unlike dear-old Gortex which is incredibly noisy and then stops working altogether).

A strong bungee-cord keeps the gaiter in place (replaceable, although we've yet to need to do so after several years of continuous use)

We've been using Trailwise Gaiters for years; they are amazingly tough and completely effective....using gaiters can help significantly in preventing ticks from attaching themselves to you; for this reason we advocate their use, especially in long grass/heather.

Trailwise gaiters are individually made in Britain by people who understand the British climate!!

THEY'RE BACK!!

Our most popular specialist deer-stalker's knife.

The ergonomic, bright fluorescent-orange handle is made from Krayton and is safe, non-porous and hygienic; you won't loose this in the heather or grass and you won't accidentally stand on it if you've put it down. The strong, stainless-steel blade is razor sharp from the factory and is easily mintained ("a sharp knife is a safe knife" - See our range of EZE-Lap Sharpeners). The drop-point blade makes easy work of even bigger species and is a good all-round shape for outdoor tasks.
A quality top-grain cowhide sheath is povided with a retaining button and a belt-loop - a man-made fibre insert protects the knife and, more importantly, protects the sheath from the knife keeping it clean and free of contamination.
Sharp-forever care: if you do somehow manage to lose the profile altogether through normal use and maintenance - send it back to us and we'll re-grind it free of charge. If you accidentally break the blade or damage the handle (through normal use) send it back and we will replace the knife for 1/2 of the then current RRP plus shipping and handling.
The Drop-point blade is the most popular all-round design for both stalking and general bushcraft use.
Black Handle variant available - delivery 2 to 3 days - please call for advise.
Safe. Hygienic. Strong & covered for life

Back in stock!
For those who (like us) find snazzy, zippered, fleece lined, Velcro'd, anatomically designed...blah blah back-packs all rather tiresome; this is a real blast from the past.......but, with all the benefits of modernity left in! More of a 'daypack' than a 'back-pack' as-such, but in a classic retro design, the 30 and 20 Litre versions of this pack are both proving to be incredibly popular. The pack is made from soft, quiet G-1000 material and so is incredibly strong; buckled leather straps hold the lid on the main compartment in place. The spacious main compartment has two ties to secure it and a zippered pocket in the closure flap; the two side pockets are also secured with leather straps and buckles. The shoulder straps are comfortable and well padded, the pack has a strong frame which makes it comfortable and airy to wear even over longer distances with plenty of room for your waterproof macintosh, sandwiches and of course your essential flask or tea-making equipment; we've been happily using the Fjallraven Vintage packs for a couple of years now for walking, picnics, foraging and as day-sacs for hill-stalking.

Volume: 30Litres total
