Online Catalogue | Apel Scope Mounts
“Scope Mounts of Highest Precision”
If you seek accuracy, and more importantly consistently robust accuracy you need a good link between rifle and scope; in fact the importance of this link is hugely underplayed and often misunderstood. Scope mounts should not be considered a "necessary evil" – they are an important and integral part of any reliable rifle platform.
Ernst Apel GmbH were founded in 1919 and today make what are arguably the world’s finest scope mount systems. Apel are renowned for quality, product innovation and reliable service; based in Gerbrunn, Germany, Apel manufacture everything on site and claim to make a scope mounting solution for virtually any combination of rifle/scope. To achieve this, Apel produce essentially three different mount systems:
Today Apel are one of the few manufacturers offering mount systems for the full range of scope tube diameters, including 1”/26mm, 30mm, 34mm, and rail. Apel mounts will fit to a wide variety of rifle receiver prisms: 11mm, 14.5mm, 19mm and Weaver
With over 2000 products listed in the Apel catalogue, choosing the correct mounts for your scope and rifle combination can however be difficult.
Just call us on 01494 481886 with your rifle and scope details, together with details of what type of mounts you require. We will identify the correct Apel part numbers and supply you with a quotation, usually within 1 working day.
We will require details of your rifle make and model, your scope make, model, tube diameter and objective bell outside diameter.

The term ‘Slide-on and Roll-off’ are somewhat confusing as normally these mount systems are referred to as ‘fixed’ i.e. where they are correctly fitted and then remain in place on the rifle often without being removed until the rifle or scope are sold.
Apel produce reliable fixed mount systems for all common firearms in a variety of styles to suit all shooting situations, various ring diameters and even with ‘see through’ designs so that open sights can be used in conjunction with telescopic sights.
Slide-on/Roll-off (fixed) mounts are by far the most commonly used sights on most Sporting and Target rifles in the UK. When properly fitted they provide a reliably stable platform to which to attach modern precision ‘scopes. Being fully adjustable, Apel mounts allow a far greater degree of fine adjustment for the perfect zero setting.
Highly recommended during a recent outing in Scotland one of our rifles, fitted with Apel mounts, was dropped, sat on and then used like a sled down the side of a mountain when tested later, the rifle was found to be still holding a perfectly true zero!
Again, the term ‘Pivot Mount’ can be perhaps slightly confusing; in the UK we tend to refer to this design as the ‘Swing Off’ system. In fact it was Apel who pioneered this design of mount some thirty years ago, and although often copied, no other manufacturer has yet to come up with a superior Pivot system.
The Pivot system allows the user to literally swing the ‘scope off the base feet attached to the rifle; this system allows for instance more compact storage/transport, separate transport of sensitive telescopic sights, or the use of multiple ‘scopes on one or more rifles.
The Apel Pivot mount is a marvel of modern precision engineering, when properly fitted, a scope can be removed and then replaced for reliable use to within ¼” of the original zero every time.
Nearly all ‘scopes can be Pivot mounted to most designs of rifle ‘scope receivers including bolt action and break open rifle designs and railed ‘scopes.

Claw mounts are primarily for use with break-action rifles, but once again Apel have advanced the technology employed to the limit; a huge variety of mounts are made to cope with the varied demands of users of this type of firearm.
As with all their products, Apel claw mounts are technically proficient, functional and innovative, whilst they are also always designed in sympathy with the style of firearm for which they are intended.
Apel claw mounts are increasingly in demand as the sales of traditional double barrelled moving & dangerous game rifles increase.
